WHY STAY
Cabanas No Rio are unique design dwellings on the banks of Sado River in Comporto, Portugal (part of the Silent Living portfolio). The modern cabins are fishermen huts made entirely out of wood, masterfully restored by the owner along with architect Manuel Aires Mateus.
The two intimate huts are designed with simplicity to let the surrounding nature be the focus, and are shaped to open up to the landscape. Enjoy showers that are equipped for the inside as well as the outside.
Drive through open sandy roads to reach the cabanas. Enjoy the stillness of sitting outside, while watching the sky change colours and listening to bird song.
WHY WANDER
Go horseback riding on the beach. Spend the day on the water and spot dolphins. Discover Alentejo and enjoy peaceful landscape observation or bird watching. Visit Ácala island and see ancient Roman Ruins. Bike through surrounding vineyards.
INDULGE IN
Country-fresh breakfast delivered in the morning. Comporta is full of rustic beachside restaurants, effortlessly preparing some of the best seafood you will taste. Visit BAR DOS PESCADORES; the iconic Sal Restaurant, Restaurante Dona Bia, Porto Santana, and the Comporta Cafe. Of course, do not miss Museu do Arroz.
GETTING THERE
Fly into Lisbon and take an hour drive south to the hotel.
